25 questions to ask on Achievement, Courage, and Discipline

On Achievement:

  1. Can you tell me about the most competitive situation you have been in?
  2. As you look back over your past, what do you consider your single most important accomplishment?
  3. What do you think are characteristics which distinguish achievers from other people? 
  4. Tell me about a time you displayed such characteristics?
  5. What shortcomings have you had to overcome to achieve what you have?
  6. What’s been your greatest responsibility?
  7. What talents are you most proud of?
  8. What makes you a good team player (or team leader)?

On Courage:

  1. What have been some of the risk you have had to take?  What were the results?
  2. How do you feel when you find that you have made a mistake or are in the wrong?
  3. What are some things that you have found difficult to face? 
  4. How did you deal with those things?
  5. What are things that you find easy? 
  6. What do you find hard?
  7. When you disagree with your superiors, how to you handle the problem or conflict?
  8. What makes you angry? 
  9. What strengthens your resolve?

On Discipline:

  1. What are your career or mission goals for the next six months, year, five years?
  2. What do you think distinguishes a star in your field from an average participant?
  3. What are the most challenging, rewarding, and important parts of your mission (or job, career, or purpose)?
  4. How do you organize your time when working? 
  5. How do you plan for managing that time?
  6. How do you spend your off hours? 
  7. What are you interests, hobbies, or volunteer passions?
  8. How much time do you spend on these activities?
